Windows 10: Natural Ergonomic Keyboard v1.0 stops functioning when I open youtube.com in any browser or...

I have Windows 10, fully updated, and in the past several weeks whenever I open youtube.com the keyboard stops responding for a while, but if activate another window then it will sometimes start working. It does this with Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. However, if I play a YouTube video it stops functioning completely. It also stops working if I play a video with VLC. When I close the YouTube tab in the browser then the keyboard starts functioning normally. I've uninstalled the keyboard in device manager and then scanned for hardware, I've download the latest Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Cent

I suggest you to connect the keyboard to a different computer and check if the issue persists.

If the keyboard does not function correctly on another computer, the keyboard maybe defective. If this is the case, and the warranty on the keyboard is still valid, you may exchange the defective keyboard for a new keyboard.

If the keyboard works fine on a different computer, try the methods listed below:

Method 1

Adjust Language settings:

• Open Settings and click on Time and Language.
  
• Choose Region and Language and make sure the language you’re using on your keyboard (the input language) matches the one you’re using on your PC (the display language).
  

Method 2

Update driver manually:

Install the latest drivers from Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and check if
it works.

If the issue persists, you may get in touch with
Microsoft Hardware Support for further assistance.

MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 not working

I have a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1.0, using it on a windows 10 Pro, and some of the buttons/functions are not working. For example the scroll button is not working, the left and right button on top of the lights are not working. The
star button is also not working. Can you please help me?

 

How to program the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 in Windows 10?

I too have a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, which I have happily been using with Windows 7. Upon upgrading to Windows 10, the programmable hot keys were no longer functional, nor the extended numberpad keys ("=", "(", ")", Backspace). I tracked
down my installation disk (IntelliType Pro 2.2), only to be informed that this software does not run on Windows 10.

Sounds like bad news. No. I found the "Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.7 64-bit (exe)" at
https://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/natural-ergonomic-keyboard-4000. Works a treat.

Now if only I could get Windows 10 to stop automatically changing my input mode from US keyboard to INTL keyboard!
