Windows 10: Navigation dropdown list in File Explorer is gone, can I get it back?

Since the latest update to File Explorer in Windows 11, the small down arrow that shows navigation history is gone. I found this incredibly useful but have been unable to find a way to put it back. Is it possible?This is what I used to see captured from a YouTube video. Clicking that arrow displayed a history list in a similar way that web browsers do, allowing quick access to any folder in the forward/back history:

Open File explorer,
Select the View tab,
Click on the Navigation pane icon on the left-hand end of the Ribbon,
In the dropdown list that appears, click on Navigation pane.

You will now have the conventional, two pane display of File explorer with the folder list in the left-hand pane ["Navigation pane"].

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
