Windows 10: Need _desktop icon_ to switch to specific virtual desktop

Hi, I have to run Windows 10 on a corporate virtual machine (VM). I have been using three virtual desktops within the Windows 10 VM for three different purposes. But now some programs are contstantly stealing focus so I cannot reliably use the Desktop Switcher utility any more! The desktop switcher disappears before I can choose the other desktop.

Because of restrictions on remote access:

• I can NOT use the windows (WIN) key to switch desktops.
• I can NOT use any combination of hotkeys to switch desktops.
• I can NOT use the keyboard at all to switch desktops.
• I can NOT install any addons or applications.

One thing I CAN do is use RegEdit.

So, I would like to create desktop shortcuts that will switch me to a specific virtual desktop.

I already have a desktop shortcut to invoke desktop switcher (in addition to the taskbar button), but due to the focus stealing issues it's still unusable. Doesn't matter how I invoke it; desktop switcher is gone before I can do anything.

Is there any way to create a desktop shortcut that, when clicked on, immediately switches me to a specific virtual desktop (identified either by name or by number) ? [ETA: I am comfortable working with GUIDs and hacking command lines]

Track-pad gesture switching of Virtual Desktop for specific monitor

On Apple/OSX, I can swipe between virtual desktops for just the monitor I have my cursor on while the current desktop on the 2nd monitor remains the same.

On Windows 10, when I swipe between desktops on monitor 1, it also switches to the 2nd (or 3rd) desktop on monitor 2. This isn't ideal - is there a way to only swipe between just the virtual desktops on the monitor that has focus?
