Windows 10: Need desktop to always have same IP Address

I have 1 desktop, 2 laptops, 2 printers, 1 phone, 1 other device connecting wirelessly to router.


When they're all happy it's great. When they're not :-


I have some software that synchronises my phone to Outlook, and it requires the desktop to always have 1.192.1.65 as it's I.P.Address.


Following power cuts/ router /broadband issues, sometimes it loses this IP Address and gets a different address.


Sometimes I can switch off all other devices, re-start the desktop and all is OK.


Sometimes I have to reset the router as well.


Sometimes, like today, noting works.


The help for the software is hopeless. Asks me to do something on my phone that doesn't exist. Their help is not helpful, and requires me to reset it all from scratch, and then I lose information from either the phone or Outlook.


I have a Plusnet router, Windows 10 on computers, Android phone.


Is there a way to make the destop always have 1.192.1.65, or to get it back.

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

IP Address.

Hello,

I can not find my IP Address.

Also,I can not find the Ethernet Connection on my Taskbar.

I have found my Internet Access icon on my Taskbar.

Please list the steps needed to find my IP Address.

I found "Network & Internet",in "Setting",

I then found a link,"Finding my IP Address,(Under "Have a Question?")

But,this link did not help me find my IP Address.

This issue could have occurred due incorrect TCP\IP Address settings.



Try the steps listed here:



Method 1:

I suggest you to reset TCP\IP and check if it helps.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try these steps to Flush DNS and request a new IP address from your ISP server. Check if it helps.

• 
  Click on
  Start and type cmd on start search.
  
• 
  Right-click on command prompt Run
  and selectas administrator.
  
• 
  At the command prompt, type the following commands and hit
  Enter after each command.
  

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

exit
