Windows 10: Need FREE LOCAL pdf password recovery

Hello ALL:

We run Windows 10 pro but not sure that matters.
I have searched and not found anything that works. My wife created a PDF that she password protected. No problem but she can not remember the password. Because of the contents she did not put it in het favorite password manager, but the pdf will not open as it asks for the password and nothing works. I believe she used Nitro Pro and combined a few documents and then password protected the file. I do NOT want to send this file anywhere and want a program that is free and runs on our computer. I tried a few and they do not work. Any ideas?

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

• 
  Login in to your Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Press Windows logo key + X key.
  
• 
  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.
  
• 
  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.

hdd password recovery

howdy. if this isnt the right forum please move it.
a friend has a 3 year old hp or compaq tower. they called me to help. they are not able to get into the admin accound, because the password was changed. it was changed by them when a popup told them for security they should change thier password.
after it was changed they could no longer get into the admin account with the password they changed it to, and the computer started sending out emails to everyone on her address list with porn and viagara type adds.
i ran anti virus and we found 20 trogans, virus, ect. everything comes back clean now, but we still cant get into asdmin account to format drive.she doesnt have a vista system disc, just the recovery partition.
1.. is there a way to get the password?

2... if not can i install a new hdd and install from her recovery partition?

3...will i be able to install new hdd and install vist from my disc or is the mb set up to not alow that?
