Windows 10: need help adding a 2nd user account to my laptop windows 10 pro ver 2004

I'm attempting to add a 2nd account to my new laptop. The second account has an existing O365 account and I can log into it from portal.office.com. However, when I try add other users/add someone else to this PC, enter the valid 365 id, it comes back with a message saying "looks like this isn't a Microsoft account. Try another email".


I tried adding it from "Access work or school", that seems to have worked, I can see the windows sign and the email, but when I try to login to that id from the PC sign in, it does not recognize it.


My objective is to have another user account on my laptop that is separate from my primary user account. I want to keep things segregated.


I tried going down the add someone else/i don't have this person's sign-in information/add a user without a Microsoft account path as well. I entered the id, password twice, 3 security questions.

It shows as a local account in the "other users" screen, but when I ctr/alt/del switch users, enter the credentials, it locked the pc.


I'm at a loss.

2nd User Accounts for Guests

How do I add a picture (NOT A PHOTO) in Windows 10 to a Guest, any Guest USER ACCOUNT or the 2nd User Account that I have set up for my guests in case they need to use my laptop to go on the internet?

I'm not asking about my, User Account, in which I have inserted a photo of myself.

Please provide a step-by-step solution if possible.

Look at this thread,How to Delete a User Account in Windows 10, it may help. You can try the various methods.
Make sure you are using an administrative account when removing the account or log on using the Administrator's account.

Or, if you are patient and know what you are doing, manually remove it.

Hi Shawn, thanks for all the great tutorials, I use them often myself or make reference to them.

Do the listed steps actually work on vers 1903? As I mentioned in my preceding post, Ten Forward and I both replaced User.png instead of User-192.png in order to have success with vers 1809.
