Windows 10: NEED HELP ASAP, CHKDSK /R STUCK AT 10%

Hey everyone,

I am facing an issue with a laptop i have, it kept crashing at random times and i got the blue screen of death saying PC ran into some problems, Stop code: DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER. I searched this issue up online, got multiple solutions telling me to update my drivers, etc. One of the solutions was to run a chkdsk /r from my cmd. I did so (Without checking what it was or how long it would take) and windows scheduled a check next time i restarted my laptop. I restarted it instantly and it started the check saying Driver C is being checked and repaired: 10% complete. I've been waiting for 2 hours now and it hasn't made any progress. I looked up online and people say it may take days, weeks or maybe even a month to complete the check. Does anybody have an idea how long it will take ? And is there any way to cancel this check? I was considering to restart my laptop but I've read online that the HDD can be corrupted? Someone please reply ASAP because I have to return the laptop to someone else. The laptop specifications are:


CPU:- Intel Core i7-4702MQ 2.2 GHz

GPU:- Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M

RAM:- 16 GB

8 GB DDR3 L Memory

1000 GB HDD

Chkdsk /f /r stuck at 10 percent complete need help ASAP

I got some problems of my pc, 2 days ago i got my pc automatically reboot then im went to event viewer to check it out and found error event id 1001 bugcheck,for the first time im just ignore it, then several minutes while im scanning my pc with win def and
malwarebytes it going reboot again with same problem, yeaterday im get same issue again, memory diagnostic, sfc scan,virus scan not found anything, using ccleaner found a large temp file (1,5gb),today i try chkdsk, chkdsk /f /r cssd) successfully, but on
d:\ (hdd 2tb seagate) is stucking at 10% alr passed 3 hours (never happened before when im chkdsk my drive D:\ lastime)when im try to click my numlock button there is no light,what should i do? I have no idea

using windows 10 professional. X64

Hi give this link a look and see if there are any suggestions that might help you! Some times this can take a very long time. How long are you waiting? You might want to try a 3rd party Hard Drive program to test your drive. I like seagate HD test! Here's
