    How to access administrative settings to authorize the download

    Original title: Administrative Tools

    Attempting downloads from computer to thumb drive brings up authorization issue. Have looked high and low how to access administrative settings to authorize the download. What's the trick?

    Getting Administrator Authority

    I have been using Windows for many and able to work on it with Administrator authority when I needed it. But after an upgrade to Windows a few months ago, my Administrator authority went away. And when I try to do something that requires authority, it brings up a popup wanting me to enter the password for Administrator and I do not know it. I have searched the Forum for answers and nothing works. Any suggestions? BTW, I now longer have the original Windows install disk.
