Windows 10: need help cant renew ip address manually

i have no clue what i did to make it where i can not manually renew my ip address. i have tried searching google and mircosoft edge for answers on how to fix it. it comes up with no operation while media is disconnected on wlan 1 and 2 and for bluetooth. when i do ipconfig/all this is what pops up C:\Users\sweet>ipconfig/all Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection* 1: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconn

Renewing IP address

Hey book4worm,

first of all, I'd suggest to upgrade to Windows 10 since you'll get a ton of security features and updates that XP is missing out on.

But to renew your IP address:

1. Open the start menu and click on Run...
2. Type cmd.exe. A black window will appear.
3. Type ipconfig /renew and hit Enter.
4. Windows will try to receive a new IP address from your DHCP server.

If this issue persists or if the command fails, check the settings of your wifi router.

IP Address Renew

Just recently my computer stopped automatically renewing my IP address. Every time I try to access a different router, I have to release and renew my IP address manually. I am wondering if there is any way I can fix this. I checked the properties on my
wireless adapter, but it is already set to obtain the IP address automatically.
