People get it wrong with Rufus sometimes.

    Creating a bootable USB drive.

    with thanks to @NavyLCDR
To reliably make a bootable USB flash drive from an ISO file, do this:

Plug the drive into a USB port of a functioning Windows PC.

    Open a command prompt.
    Run diskpart.

Once diskpart is running, enter the following commands in sequence:

    list disk
    select disk #
    - replace # with the actual disk number of the USB flash drive
    clean
    - this will erase the selected drive, make sure it is the USB flash drive!
    create part pri
    format fs=fat32 quick
    active
    exit
    exit

    Then mount your ISO file.
(By default you can simply right click the iso file, and click Mount. However, Mount will not be available if iso files have been associated with a different program).

Copy all the files and folders from the mounted ISO file to the USB flash drive.

(If stuck you can open the iso with 7-zip, a free program).

    Discussion here:
Reinstall Windows 10 from DVD but no DVD drive[/U][/URL]
    - includes content of flash drive.

  3. I'm unable to run the active command in diskpart. I just get a respons saying:
The selected disk is not fixed MBR disk.
The ACTIVE command can only be used on fixed MBR disks.

Am I still good to go and just mount the ISO ?

Try using an admin command prompt which is what I used there - I've not tried it with a standard command prompt personally.

Of course, if you have a DVD drive, you could just burn a DVD, which is what I do.

You cannot make a partition active on a GPT partitioned drive. It has to converted to MBR first.

If the goal is to create an EFI System Partition on the drive, the command is create part EFI, not create part pri.

  7. Sorry for the waiting time, I had some other stuff I had to attend to.

Here's the screenshot from the minitool partition wizard on the disk.

    EDIT
I've checked the partition in file explorer and everything seems to still be there of my data.

According to the partition tool, it doesn't seem it recognizes my partition/volume to be hidden as it won't let me unhide it.

If i open CMD and DISKPART on the other hand, it will see that partition and volume is marked as hidden.

Far as I can see, I only need to remove that hidden attribute somehow, but unsure how to do that when the program just tells me I can hide.

Is it possible to cheese it by hiding it in the program and then unhide it?

Your EFI partition should be Active & Boot - is all column text visible?
Allocate your Windows partition a drive letter. (and name).

  9. I have assigned the letter C and labeled it WINDOWS.
It only says Active though. Nothing says Active & Boot

NEED HELP: How to repair an UEFI bootable windows 10 disk [IMG]

Should I do another clean install to make sure that EFI partition says Active & Boot before I replace the working C drive with my old non working windows?

    EDIT
I opened AOMEI Partition assistant professional edition while waiting. In this program the status only says Boot and not Active

The partition type is set wrong for C:\Windows. It should not be set as an EFI partition. You need to change the partition ID, probably using diskpart.

The FAT32 partition on disk 1 should be the only EFI partition.

    The commands should be:

    diskpart
    list disk
select disk # <replace # with the number of the disk we need
    list part
select part # <replace # with the C:\Windows partition number
    set id=ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7 override
    exit
    exit

NEED HELP: How to repair an UEFI bootable windows 10 disk

After you've sorted out the partition type (thanks @NavyLCDR), running Startup Repair or Macrium's Fix boot should do the rest- I hope.

  14. Do you know what, I'm currently loving the two of you forever.
I'm now using my old windows installation. Everything is still here and seem to be working just fine.

Now I just need to do these same stages once more so that I can get everything over on the SSD I used to have it on.
After that I'll take an ISO image of the entire disk so that I just have to load that onto the disk.

By the way, could it be that I only need to change the type on my former main SSD to fix the problem on by running startup repair from Macriums fixboot?

No matter what. Thank you so much for all the help.

Yes. Post a screenshot of AEOMI Partition Assistant or Minitool Partition Manager display of it and we can see if there is anything wrong with it.
