Windows 10: Need help in restoring User account after installing new SSD and OS.

I installed an SSD in my laptop today. The shopkeeper installed the SSD and then installed a fresh OS on it. Previously, I had a hard drive where Windows was installed on the C drive, and my username was Resurrection. Based on that, my files were in Downloads, Documents, and Desktop. Now, with the new OS installed, the SSD is showing as the H drive, and inside it, I found a folder named "Users," where my previous Resurrection files are stored. After the OS installation, a new user named "User" was created. I want to log in using my previous Resurrection account. I know it sounds a bit complica

Help with OS Transfer on a new build

Need some help figuring out what I need to do for a fresh build tomorrow. I will be moving off of my old CPU and mobo to a new X99 system. Right now I have my OS on a Sata SSD and want to transfer it onto a new NVME drive.

Some issues:

• I have a windows 10 upgrade from a RETAIL windows 7 license so I should have migration rights correct?
• I have 3 other non-OS drives so after I do the install with my old/ current Microsoft account will my fresh install of windows recognise those drives?

If you guys could shed some light on how to do this or advice please lend a hand. thanks!

 

New Account/User Issues

Hi,

When you create a new user account, Windows uses the Default user profile as a template to construct the files for the newly created user account. You might be experiencing issues creating new accounts due to a corrupt Default profile. To
resolve the issue, we suggest reinstating the Default folder in the
Users directory by following these steps:

• Log in as an administrator.
• Open the C:\Users folder using Windows Explorer.
• Rename the Default user profile folder to Default.OLD.
• Download a zip of C:\Users\Default from a Windows 10 installation that doesn't have this problem.
  
• Unzip the non-corrupt Default profile into C:\Users.
• Try logging in to the new user account and check if the problem is resolved.

I suggest you to run SFC scan.
