My system: Ryzen 9 3900X cpu on an Asus X570 ROG Crossfire Dark Hero VIII with 64gb 4x16 of Trident Z Neo RAM. The new NVME drive is a MSI M482 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB SSD Eco-Pack.I am trying to install Windows 11 onto a new Gen4 NVME m.2 drive into a Gen4 slot. I removed all other drives and just had in the USB stick media installation media and the new drive. I start the install process but when I have to select the drive I get this error: "There is an error selecting this partition for install. Please select a different partition or refresh selections". That's it, no other info is

AURUS NVMe Gen4 SSD not recognized by Windows Setup

We have a new install on x570 Auros Master motherboard (AMD AM4 X570/rev 1.1). We have one disk on the computer, a 1TB AURUS NVMe Gen4 SSD. The BIOS recognizes the NVMe drive. The BIOS is updated to F30, the latest version of the BIOS in the PCIEX16 spot
and it reads it as PCIE 3.0 x16 @ 1.0 x16. However, when we run the Windows Installer from a bootable USB, there is no disk available to install the OS on, the window is blank.

There are lots of articles for machines where windows is already installed, but we do not have any OS installed.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

OK, Bios updated but no joy, I guess looking at the list off compatible devices that is the issue :-( one would have thought that a Gen4 is a Gen4. Anyway thanks for the help. I'll order one off the compatible list you showed me itsme1.
