Windows 10: Need help recovering documents folder on old windows boot drive

I was running windows 11 off of a hard drive and for Christmas received and installed windows 11 onto an ssd. I plugged in the hard drive and am looking to access my old documents folder because I had some game saves on it. When I open the hard drive in file explorer I can see certain files including Program Files, however I cannot see all files or folders such as the Users folder. How can I make those folders appear so I can copy the saves over to my new ssd.Thanks

Recover "My Documents" folder documents from Old Hard Drive

I am trying to recover my GF's four-year architecture work (assignments and designs) from her recently gone-for-good Asus N73 laptop running Windows 10. I have detached the hard drive from the laptop and connected it to an external hard drive case.

Here's what I have done to get the data back:

1. Under the old C: drive, under Users\Administrator, I could see all the default Document folders. But according to my girlfriend, quite a few documents are missing.
   
2. I right-clicked the user profile folder and hit properties. I found that the total disk space used by this folder is much bigger than all the visible files and directories added up together.
   
3. While copying the "Administrator" folder it is asking me the for permission to copy files with some weird username prefix.
   
4. I tried to boot the OS from the old hard drive by selecting the USB boot option from my BIOS. The OS starts with Windows 10, but still I could not see all the files that mentioned by my girlfriend under C:\Users
   

What have I done wrong? What other steps I have missed? If the documents were not encrypted, why I could not see them in the place they should be?

Yes, that would be a favorable solution if possible. But it requires what I said as a first step. Once he gets booted into the OS, then he can either use it as is or try to recover the product key. I'm not saying he couldn't do what you said, I was replying to another post that suggested simply copy/pasting documents from the old hard drive.

 

Recover 'Unsaved' Document Folder

How can I navigate to my Recover Unsaved Documents folder in Word 2007. I closed my document last night before saving as I see that there is a folder that I save too every 10 minutes but can't navigate to it. THERE clearly IS a method and is available
for Word 2010, but how can I navigate if I still have 2007. When I foolow the steps listed on Support/Microsoft - the folder it navigates to is the Start Up Folder?

HELP. I'm assuming it's a lost cause, but maybe there's a glimmer of hope somehow, somewhere?
