Windows 10: Need Help Reversing a Complicated Workaround I Used for Sound Devices

So, way back last year I wanted to stream without having my friends' voices streamed along with mine. I looked into it and found a tutorial that showed me how to trick windows 10 into using my mic as my input but my communication output to my computer's speakers so that their voices don't get picked up by OBS. I remember going to manage sound devices and setting different devices as default in a very specific order to make it do this, possibly along with other steps.

Now I have someone that wants to actually be picked up, but I lost my notes on how to reverse this and I can't for the life of me figure out what key phrases to use with google to pull back up what taught me to do this in the first place. If anyone knows how I can set windows to output my communication sound to the same source again I would greatly appreciate it.

Reverse Sound

I suggest you to run the Audio troubleshooter and check if it helps.

If the issue persists, then try to uninstall and re-install the audio driver.

Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click on Device Manager.

In the list of hardware categories, look for the device that you want to update, and then right-click on it to Uninstall.

Follow onscreen instructions to uninstall it.

To re-install, either you can restart the system or install the driver from the manufacturerís website (recommended as they will have updated drivers).

Open Start, type: change sound card

Hit Enter

Select Communications tab

Choose Do nothing

If there is an 'Enhancements' tab, click on it then check the box to 'Disable all enhancements'.

Disable beep sound when plugging/unplugging laptop charger

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Disable the PC Speakers and check if it helps.

• Right click on Sound Icon in the task bar and go to Playback devices.
  
• Select Speaker and click on properties.
  
• Go to Levels tab, and mute (or you can reduce it) PC Speaker and check if it helps.
