Windows 10: Need help to solve code 56 in device manager for ethernet and wifi icon disappeared

For The past few weeks i cant connect my laptop which has windows 10 1803 to the internet.

The problem starts with taking too much time to connect to the ethernet.

So i used the troubleshooter. But didn't find anything. Looking up for solution on internet recommended to do the network reset.So i did it But then the wifi icon disappeared.

Then i tried to uninstall and reinstall the ethernet and wifi drivers but did nothing and still returning code 56

I tried to do a system restore which also failed to connect to the internet.

I update the bios to the latest version but no success

I tried to manually update the ethernet and wifi drivers but ethernet driver returned "realtek host controller not detected" and qualcomm aetheros wifi driver showed success with installation prompt but in the device manager both realtek ethernet and qualcomm aetheros wireless drivers still retuning code 56 and the wifi icon still not available.

Today i created a linux bootable usb and test it live showed that wifi and ethernet are working properly in ubuntu 18.04.

So i know that my hardware is alright.

I tried to do a clean install of Windows but still code 56 showing in device manager

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

  Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.
  

Step 2: You may follow the steps and check if it helps in resolving the issue, as the device might be hidden.

    Press Windows key + X.
    
  • 
    Click on Device Manager.
    
  • 
    Click on View.
    
  • 
    Click on Show
    Hidden Devices.
    
  • 
    Search for the Bluetooth device.

Ethernet driver thrwing an error "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)"

Hi,

I had to reinstall the RealTek Ethernet driver on my Windows 10 [1803] 64 Bit V5.3 2019 machine

The device manager shows the status as "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)"

I do not have any VPN connection

I disabled Anit virus and tried installing the driver and still got the same error

Any suggestion to resolve the issue
