Windows 10: Need help troubleshooting failed SQL Server 2019 install

Hi all,I've successfully installed SQL server 2019 and various versions over this many many times, but now I've been stuck on one install for days because of error code 1603. Like most MSFT error codes, looking this up yielded no useful results as their error codes are typically extremely generic and unhelpful. Hoping anyone here can shed some light into this. Attached is a screenshot of what I've been getting and the error code for every feature is basically the same. I checked the log, but, again, it follows the standard of being totally useless. This server does have SQL Express installed

SQL Server remote connection fails

I'm trying to install SharePoint 2019 and the remote connection to my SQL Server is failing. I've set up the firewall rules on SQL Server, allowed TCP and UDP ports 1433 and 1434 and have allowed the sqlservr.exe program in the inbound rules.

The user that's being used in the SP install wizard is an active AD domain user. I can ping the server by IP address and by name but it seems that SQL Server never receives the connection attempt.

As a test I set up a .udl file on the SharePoint host and tried to connect to the SQL Server and the connection still failed. It's not just the SP installer but something is preventing connections to SQL. I've searched the web and tried every tutorial and
suggestion but it's still failing.

Is there anything else I can check? This should not be as difficult as it has been and I'm wondering if something else is preventing the connection.

I appreciate any help.

 

SQL Server 2019 installation errors

I am learning SQL server. So I downloaded developer edition.
During the installation there were some errors. So I uninstalled I had used Revo Uninstaller trial version.
First the installation had errors then uninstall had some errors like this it kept happening(I did 2-3 times install and uninstall). At last I did following

What ever I found from control panel was uninstalled already.
Now did a fresh installation.
But I got errors again

upgrade feasibility from SQL Server 2008 to 2019

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to upgrade legacy applications from SQL Server 2008 / Windows 2008R2 to SQL Server 2019 / Windows 2019

SQL Server 2008 Enterprise -> SQL Server 2019 Enterprise

SQL Server 2008 Standard -> SQL Server 2019 Standard

SQL Server 2008 Express -> SQL Server 2019 Standard

We will also be deploying .NET 2.0 code of 4.7.2 framework (Windows 2019) .

Please advise if there will be any feasibility / compatibility issues for the same.
