Windows 10: Need help, Uninstalling norton caused a bunch of issues on my computer

Need help ASAP, So ive recently uninstalled norton antivirus that came preinstalled into my laptop, i uninstalled after hearing how intrusive and slow norton may make your computer, after using the official norton uninstall app my computer has run into a load of issues, for starters i cannot access windows defender anymore no matter how many times i click nothing opens at all, and secondly im getting a 403 Error on multiple sites that im visiting, ive never recieved these errors prior to uninstalling norton. Need help asap i have an important thing to do and i cant access a site due to a 403 E

Need help asap i have an important thing to do and i cant access a site due to a 403 Error, Ive already tried common troubleshooting and ive even System Restored my laptop back to when i still had norton installed but that didnt fix my issues whatsoever,

here is my system Edition Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 Installed on ‎12/‎25/‎2022 OS build 22621.963 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0 (cant put jpg's on this site for some reason)

I would recommend you follow the below given steps and check if it fixes the issue.

I would suggest you to restart the Norton services from the services list, and set the Norton service to automatic.

Follow these steps to run Norton services:

Method 1:

Follow these steps to run Norton services

a. Press Windows key + R

b. In the run windows, type services.msc

c. It will open services windows

d. select norton services from the list of services

e. double click on it

f. At the top of the window, Make sure the service status is started and startup type is
automatic.

g.Click apply and OK.

If this does not fix the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton software and check if it helps.

If the above steps do not help , I would suggest you to contact Norton for further help.

Problem with computer booting and norton antivirus

another problem for you guys....

my friend thought he had a virus on his computer so i tried to install nortan anti 2004 on it and it took forever and then never actually installed, got stuck on the last bit. Can't remember why but probably just got impatient and restarted it in the end (probably shouldn't have done that with hindsight).

now when ever you turn the computer on it is unbelievably slow, i'm talking like 30 min just to open a folder. It shows norton anti as being installed with the shortcut item on the desktop and the trash can as being protected but norton never actually starts properly.

First thought was to try starting in safe mode and uninstall norton, starts up fine in safe mode and works at normal speeds but when i go to uninstall norton antivirus it's not in the list of programs to uninstall. I've checked msconfig and there are deffinately the apps in there that start with norton so it's installed to an extent.

any advice on how i can actually uninstall norton and get my mates computer back upto the right working speed.

he's running win xp home btw
