Windows 10: Need help with a lagging issue

Hello! I am running windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 14 7504 with a Ryzen 7 4000 CPU, AMD Radeon graphics, and 32GB of RAM.

For some reason, my CPU keeps maxing out and it either gets really laggy or freezes for about a minute. If I move the cursor it highlights nearby objects as if I was right-clicking the mouse.

So far, I've tried: changing the antivirus to avast (as windows built-in anti-virus seems to slow the computer down), changed the power usage to "balanced", adjusted the settings for "best performance", and I've looked at the CPU usage to see what specific program was causing the issue. The programs that seem to pop up during the highest CPU usage are "runtime broker" and "service host" (thought service host typically always has a different subsystem name attached to it like "service host : X, Y, Z)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Random lag spikes

Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

CSGO lag issues

Hi, have you been able to solve this issue at all? I've had this all the time on windows 10, and it's doing my nut in! I've noticed also in game my constant fire on there appears to be 'slow' as well as the lag issue you get. I've tried updating drivers and also disabling xbox DVR (as some people suggested) but still get the same issue.

If I revert back to windows 8.1 though (fresh installs though), I don't get this lag at all.... I might try the ACK setting in the registry someone has suggested, but it's making me consider going back to windows 8.1!

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
