Windows 10: Need Help with fixing possibly corrupted .stl and .obj files with 0x80004005 error code.

After changing a permission setting in windows, I had several hundred files that now refuse to open all of them giving an 0x80004005 error code. I have tried using several different programs to open them, 3D Builder, Zbrush, blender, Noesis, Meshmixer and even Photoshop to no avail. I am not really sure how this process is supposed to work so if you need any additional information please feel free to request it. I understand that these files may be forever lost but many are not replaceable and if there is any chance of salvaging them I'm willing to try. Thank you for your time and hope to

so I was wondering if was possible to save files as anything other than .3mf files such as .obj or .stl with 3d builder cause I need .obj and .stl files for something.

This issue could occur if the OBJ file is exported incorrectly, or the file is corrupt.

If the repair function in 3D Builder is not correctly applying and permanently saving the fix, you may manually repair the file using the
Microsoft STL Repair tool. Click on the link I've attached, then follow the steps on the support site.

If the STL Repair tool didn't sort it, then I suggest that you use a third-party software that will repair the file. You can search online for free programs that has the same feature.
