Windows 10: Need help with my pc crashing then rebooting

I believe that in event viewer, I found the reason for the crash, Event 1001, BugCheckThe computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000116 0xffff978cedcc5050, 0xfffff8008b750100, 0xffffffffc000009a, 0x0000000000000004. A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\081424-11859-01.dmp. all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.

 

PC reboots (no BSOD) on CPU stress

Hi fellow TPU members,

not too long ago, the box my gf's PC was transported in gave way on the stairs. Yes, you got it right, that sent a PC tumbling down a flight of steps alright.

Stuff broke. Also, stuff remained intact somehow.

I bought her a new case, new CPU cooler and we removed the floppy drive, so far so good. But the PC started crashing for no apparent reason, without a BSOD.

I tested:

• Memtest86+, left overnight, 0 errors
• Scanned the HDD for errors, nothing there
• Left FurMark burning up the GFX card and drawing some power, no problems there
• Ran Ubuntu from a Live CD doing nothing special, didn't crash
• Ran OCCT, Linpack, Prime95, all 3 caused reboots within minutes
• Oh, and I disabled "Restart on error" so I'm sure it's not a BSOD.

Now, I can still try and test something CPU intensive on Ubuntu, but my guess is the CPU didn't survive.
Before I do anything drastic like whippin' out the magic wallet and get her a new AMD quad, is there anything I didn't see?
I'm guessing the motherboard could be borkered as well, but can I check that other than replacing the CPU with a working one?
Any suggestions on which proggies I can use from an Ubuntu Live CD to stress the CPU?

 

Crashes and reboots, please help!

Hi there, I'm kind of speaking on behalf of a lot of people here so any help that I could pass on would be much appreciated!

Juding by Blizzard's forums, many people who play World Of Warcraft are experiencing major problems with ATI cards - total system reboots, locks and/or crashes to the desktop seem to be commonplace. I've heard that similar things also happen with ATI cards when running Doom 3 and Call Of Duty 2, amongst other games. I am running a Radeon 9800 Pro and have tried everything to correct my crashes - sometimes I can play for hours with no problems, other times the game will cause total system reboots every minute of play. I have introduced more cooling into my case, checked my RAM and power supplies, even tried running the game in OpenGL and with hugely reduced detail levels etc etc, all with no change.

A lot of ATI users are in the same boat as me, so I decided to try ATITool in an attempt to rectify my problems - someone suggested that resetting my card's fans to dynamic control might do the job, because apparently all ATi Drivers since Catalyst Control Center was introduced explicitly turn down the video card fan speed due to customer noise complaint. I have also downloaded an alternative interface for tweaking from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ as I was told that disabling VPU Recovery might help (it hasn't).

Was just wondering if anyone can tell me how to change the fan speed for my card using the tool? or if anyone has any other suggestions?
