Windows 10: Need help with 'side-by-side configuration incorrect' stuff

This message came up a few days ago. I run Windows 10 and Edge. Since this came up my Edge icon is no longer on the taskbar. I have to double click the icon on the screen or go through the start menu.Did some hunting around and found information relating to the above. The most helpful answer thus far was one posted by another advisor on this website -- but that was just over one year ago. Therefore I would appreciate a little clarification please. I followed the advisor's appwiz.cpl suggestion to determine the Microsoft Visual C++ info for my PC. The advisor then stated that I need t

Side by side configuration incorrect

I'm attempting to install some software (namely sage accounts ) on a fresh install of windows 10 pro.
After installation (which appears to be successful) I receive the "error side by side configuration incorrect " when trying to run the app ..
I have googled the hell out of this and only find threads suggesting deleting all c++ versions and re installing.

I have tried several re installs of the software and following the above guide to no avail.. can anyone suggest a fix for this please ??

Prevent "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect..." error starting Access. It contains troubleshooting steps pertaining the issue.
