Windows 10: need help with strange keyboard issues on my lenovo laptop. shift not modifying first key...

hi! Ive been having a few issues with my Lenovo laptop, and haven't come across this particular problem on the internet.one, i'll hold either shift key on the keyboard, and on the first press of a letter, it doesn't modify it, but all subsequent presses are modified / capitalized. like this:[holding shift key]aAAAbBBB,jJJJJ,7&&&,;::::help1!etc, its very frustrating. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, sticky and filter keys are off, bios is up to date, nothing works. my second issue is crashes on booting, and after sleeping. when i turn on my pc, often i'll get t

Both shift keys

Hello.
I have problem with Lenovo Idea Pad 100 laptop (OS: WIN10). After replacing HDD into SSD I faced a strange problem. Both Shifts of the keyboard doesn‘t work .
I have tried to:

• Check if sticky keys are off. They are off.
• Connect external keyboard via USB port. Shift keys on external keyboard works good.
• Check the keyboard on online tester which indicates pressed buttons. It can‘t indicate press of the shift
• Change several different input languages. The problem is on all of them.
• Reinstall keyboard driver
• Check if connection is OK. It is OK.
• Tried to run computer without screws (I have read in one forum that screws could touch the keyboard from the bottom and it wouldn‘t operate normal)

I believe that keyboard is not damaged because connector damage could cause just exact part of keyboard failure, while it is impossible to do physical damage for both shifts. Any solutions?

I realize that you are facing issues with the keyboard on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

• 
  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

Strange Keyboard issue

Sounds like an anti-ghosting issue to me.
Try this, hold down both shift keys, and either type it here, or in some other form of a word type file: THE QUICK BROWN FOX
Doing that on the Lenovo keyboard, I get this: HE QUIK BROWN FO

This means that not all keys can be pressed and recognized at the same time. This is a huge selling feature in "gaming" keyboards!

Digging deeper into the internet, it seems that your keyboard does feature anti-ghosting (Blackwidow), but for only 6 keys at a time. Maybe just certain key combinations fail, not sure.
