Windows 10: Need help with "This sign-in option is disabled..." message

I recently received this message after a login snafu where my pc didnt accept my password a few times due to not being connected to the internet. I dont have any alternative sign-in methods, just the option to put in the "challenge phrase" and my PIN, ive left my machine powered on for 2+ hours multiple times to no avail. I am at my wits end with microsoft support or the lack of it and have no idea of what to do. I swear the system is made to use as little of Microsofts support as possible. I attempted to get a live chat and it didnt work multiple times, this is infuriating.

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• On the right side, you will see required sign in.
• Change it to Never.

We are regularly getting the following error message on one of our devices:

"This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a difference sign-in option or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again."

We do not have any other sign in option available to us on the device, and so are having to wait for 2 hours each time the message appears which results in the computer being unusable for a significant amount of time.

We are not repeatedly entering the password, as suggested by the error message, this message is appearing when we initially start up the computer. The computer is shutdown correctly at the end of the day, and not multiple times as suggested by the error message.

This error message seems to be appearing on our device several times throughout the week.
