    Need help with upgrading of hardware.

    Hi there!

    I need to replace some of the hardware in my PC, due to electrical damage. I will list as much information as I can, but please ask if you require more info, or if something does not make sense. (English is not my first language).

    Here is a list of the current hardware setup that I have.

    OS: Windows 10 64bit (I have the unpaid version);

    Case: NZXT H700;

    Motherboard: ASUS ROG CrossHair VII Hero;

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 - 2700X;

    CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X72 with 3 CorsAir LL120 Fans (Top mounted - Push out config);

    RAM: GSkill Trident Z RGB - 16Gig (2 x 8 Gig sticks);

    GPU: AMD Radeon VII 16 Gig (stripped and mounted to NZXT Kraken G12 bracket for liquid cooling);

    GPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X72 with 3 CorsAir LL120 Fans (front mounted - pull in config);

    SSD Drives: OS - Samsung 750 EVO 500Gig; Gaming 1 - Samsung 850 EVO 1Tb; Gaming 2 - Samsung 860 EVO 1Tb; Gaming 3 - Samsung 860 EVO 1Tb; Gaming 4 - Samsung 860 EVO 1Tb;

    Power Supply: CorsAir HX1000i;

    USB HUB: Internal NZXT USB Hub (5 port);

    Other fans: CorsAir LL140 Exhaust fan (Rear);

    Monitor: Samsung 34" Curved (3440 X 1440) CF791 WQHD 100Hz;

    Keyboard: Redragon Centaur RGB;

    Mouse: Redragon Emperor RGB;

    Mouse Pad: Redragon P011 Orion RGB;

    Headphones: Redragon Siren 2;

    Controller: PS 3 controller;

    H.O.T.A.S system: Logitech X-56 (version 2 - Grey & black);

    Steering wheel and peddals: Predator V2.

    My GPU decided to die due to the rolling power blackouts in my country. I will be upgrading the following hardware:

    GPU; Motherboard; RAM; CPU; Extra HDD.

    Here are the details of the new stuff: Replacement parts:

    GPU: Asus Radeon RX 5700 ROG Strix Gaming OC ROG-STRIX-RX5700-O8G-GAMING 8GB GDDR6 256-bit PCI-E 4.0 Desktop Graphics Card;

    Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero AMD X570 Ryzen Socket AM4 ATX Desktop Motherboard;

    RAM: G.Skill F4-3600C16D-32GTZRC Trident Z RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600MHz CL16 1.35V;

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900X 12 Core 3.8GHz (4.6 GHz Boost) Socket AM4 Desktop CPU;

    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 4TB 3.5" HDD.

    I need help/advice with how to do the whole Windows 10 thing when I install the new hardware. All other hardware not listed under "Replacement Parts" will stay exactly as they are.

    The Windows version I have installed is the unpaid version, that has that irritating watermark in the right corner of the screen that keeps reminding you to buy it. I have zero issues with software, drivers, viruses and and and. The PC is used for gaming only and nothing else. I just need to replace the hardware listed, but am unsure as to what Windows will do and what I should or can do to prepare for the change. I would like to prevent a fresh Windows 10 install if I can or to get and install all of my apps and stuff.

    Thank you!

    Recommend hardware changes for upgrading from Win-7 to Win-10

    Bree
    I followed your suggestions (2nd Aug 19) for installing Win-10. Made the bootable flash drive successfully through the media creation tool. But when I attempted to upgrade and activate to Win-10 (64 bit) from within Win-7 (Pro-32 bit), I got the following error message:

    Error # OxC1900101-Ox20017. " The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation"

    I read the diagnostics under this error number and carried out the proposed fixes, i.e. update Win-7, uninstall Malwarebyte antivirus, disconnect all external hardware, e.g. printer, scanner, external hard drives. I then tried to repeat the steps to do the upgrade through the Win-10 bootable flash drive as before. Got the same error message.
    Appreciate any further comments and suggestions as to (a) what does a failure in the SAFE_OS during boot operation mean, (b) what can I do to solve it. Is this anything to do with the hardware in my computer? I listed these in my first posting above.
    Thanks for any help

    Need help with upgrading of hardware.

    is hardware OK (Win 7) for upgrade to windows 10

    I think in one of the other PC with win 7 or win 8.1 I run media creators tools and in some step prompt/found graphics card not supported... for win 10. I didn't found alone reading specs of win 10, but the tool says me... after changed graphics card the tool said all OK and continued OK with upgrade... That I ask to reach this step in this current PC - win 7 - must be all OK for the upgrade? Or must continue to upgrade to show this?
    and got to point

    • UPGRADE this PC now
    • Create media(DVD, USB stick, ISO)
    is hardware OK (Win 7) for an upgrade to windows 10 for this PC???
