Windows 10: Need help with upgrading to Windows 11. Consistently receiving 0x40021 error, failure on...

Trying to upgrade to Windows 11. Consistently receiving 0x40021 error, failure on SECOND_BOOT phase during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operation. Uninstalled software, ran several error checks, performed a clean boot, disabled network and SD card reader through BIOS, the error persists. Can someone give advice on how to troubleshoot using the logs that are generated in Panther and Rollback directories?

Windows 11 Installation Error Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x40021

I tried upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11 using "Check for updates Menu in Settings" and "Windows Installation Assistant" but both fail at the end with the error:

Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x40021

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operation

I read a thread about this error and said to generate a new thread because each PC got different solution.

Please Help...

The pc is fully compatible in the pc Health Check WIndows 11 requirements.

 

Windows 11 Installation Error - Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x40021

Hello.

I tried installing Windows 11 23H2 from 22H2 using ISO but it fails and rolls back at the end with the error:

Error Code: 0xC1900101 0x40021

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operation

Can't seem to find any documentation regarding this error.

Looking at a previous post with same error (Redirecting), i've saved the following files:

• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther\Setupact.log
  
• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\Setupact.log
  
• C:/$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
  
• C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\Setupmem.dmp
  

and used "setupdiag /ZipLogs:True" to create the Logs.zip file, but don't know what to search for.

Any help on this?

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade my Windows 10 to Windows 11 but I've got a blue screen with this error :
INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP

After that, when I came in Windows 10, the configuration of Windows 11 tell this error :

0xC1900101 - 0x40021 : The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error in the BOOT operator.

(This error occurs when I'm use the ISO file)
(I've already tried Windows 11 Installation Assistant)
