Windows 10: Need icons on desktop in Black colour font.

Hi there, can you please advise how can I change the font colour from White to Black for the icons on my desktop?? currently they are White with a background shading of black. I dont need the shading just want the icons in black font. We have Windows 10 and Office 365 in our office.Thank You and Regards.Aspi

Change the font of my desktop icons

Hi Domi,

Windows 10 make it easier for you to personalize your computer by going to the Settings app. Some options from Control Panel has been moved to the Settings app just to bring all the settings under one roof.

To change your desktop font, you may follow these steps:

• Go to Settings.
  
• Choose Personalization.
  
• Select Themes.
  
• Under Themes, select Theme settings.
  
• On the left pane, click Change desktop icons.

To change the font size of the icons on your desktop, refer to these steps:

• Right-click on your desktop.
  
• Click View.
  
• Select the font size you prefer for your desktop icon.

How do I change the Desktop Font color in Windows 10 to Black

As suggested by f14Tomcat above you might want to be careful about changing system font.

Personally I use Winaero and Iconoid to change font sizes and colours and leave the system font alone. Seems to work fine if you change icon, menu, message, and title bar font sizes. Here is my desktop with font sizes at 14 on icons and menus and 28 on title bars. Iconoid is set to a light gray (200, 200, 200)
