Need lock down the apps running on devices.

I've tried to us Microsoft Launcher and Microsoft Family Safety App on Android device to limit the access to some Apps.Launcher App can hide the app like 'settings' from desktop and protect by password. But you still can access settings from right-top of the menu which slipped up from bottom. When I set the block app or set time slot from Family Safety App, it doesn't work. I still can open it on my Android device. If I post under incorrect category, please help me to move to correct one.Thank you.

    :)

  2. How do windows run background apps after lock system?

    Hi Kim,

I realize the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in answering the question.

I would like to inform you that new Windows 10 apps have permission to run in the background so they can update their live tiles, fetch new data, and receive notifications:

Follow the steps below and check:

    • Open Settings or Press Windows + I keys
    • Go to privacy
    • Click on Background apps.
    • locate the desktop app and slide it to off.
    • You can do this for individual apps.
If you want to add app in the lock screen follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Turn on notifications in PC Settings. (This should be on by default.)

    • Open the Settings Charm.
    • Tap or click Change PC settings.
    • Tap or click Notifications.
    • Slide the Show app notifications and Show app notifications on the lock screen switches to On.

Step 2: Add the app to lock screen notifications

    • Open the Settings charm.
    • Tap or click Change PC settings.
    • Tap or click Personalize.
    • In the right pane, with the Lock screen tab selected, under Choose apps to run in the background… tap or click one of the “plus” symbols and select the app.
Then under Choose an app to display detailed status, tap or click the icon beneath it and select the app.

    Check if it helps.

Keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Need lock down the apps running on devices. :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

  4. Need lock down the apps running on devices.

    PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??
