Windows Live shows wrong WP7 Phone Number

I am also having this issue. The problem arose when I switched to a new service provider which coincided with my purchase of a Windows Phone 7 device. During the mobile # porting process, I was given a temporary number. The problem is, even after getting
my number ported over, it's still listed as the temporary number on the device itself, which is then probably passing that on to the Live servers. If that is the case, then this would most likely have to be changed at the device level at which point the correct
phone number might propogate to the Windows Live server. Conversely, it could be the complete reverse, which would be odd (Live is telling the phone what number it should be listing).

Luckily the number that the phone lists internally doesn't affect the number that people see on their displays when recieving a call from me. Still, I'd really like to see the proper number listed, as it may very well affect the phone finding service should
I lose my phone.

 

Phone number not sync'ed from windows live

I recently exported my contacts to gmail from my iPhone and then imported them into windows live to sync with my phone. The problem is some of the contacts have a phone number in windows live but not on my phone. but some do. i'm not sure how i can
fix this?

 

Blocking Cell Phone Numbers

Here's one way to get around the problem. It's kludgy but it should work.

Get a VOIP based phone service or a magic jack. For 24/7 access, you're better off with VOIP that uses an ethernet adapter, but that's up to the user.

The important point is to find one that lets you create your own "black list" of callers. Usually they will have both black and white list options and these are usually a subcategory under the "do not disturb" or similar feature.

The provider will usually let you create a second number for $5-10 per month. You'll use this for your cell phone number. If it is ever compromised, you can change it easily without affecting the base number.

Forward the second number to your cell phone and give everyone that one as your "cell phone" number. There will be a delay of a few seconds as calls get routed, but who cares. It's not like any of us is on Obama's speed dial right?

Now when you get assholes calling you, just add them to the black list.

You can also block calls w/o caller id this way if your cell phone co. doesn't already do that for you.
