Windows 10: Need to change pin, don't have microsoft account

Discus and support Need to change pin, don't have microsoft account in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; Recently around August 2nd 2024 my Microsoft account was hacked.     Need to change pin, don't have microsoft account


    Recently around August 2nd 2024 my Microsoft account was hacked. I had contacted Microsoft support regarding this and my account will be recovered soon. but also right now I have made a new computer which I have used my old drive and I soon as I try to boot using that drive it says "that your pin is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device like to set up your pin again"

    We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

    • Click Start menu and go to Settings.
    • In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
    • Click on Sign-in options.
    • Change both your password and pin one by one.
    Let us know how it goes.

    Changing pin for Microsoft account and or log in to computer

    Hello SukiWelch

    My Name is Paul one of the community experts and I do apologize that you are having issues changing your Microsoft Pin. There is a workaround for your to be able t o change it.

    * Search Settings under start menu panel or (keyboard shortcut: Windows + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options.

    * Click the Change button under PIN.

    * Enter your current PIN; then, enter and confirm the new PIN underneath.

    * Tap I forgot my PIN.

    * Enter your Microsoft account password; then, set up the new Pin.

    Kindly get back to me if the above steps did not resolve the issue. I Appreciate your time and hopefully the information's stated above might help you.

    Hi Irene,

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

    • How are you trying to change the password?
    • Have you logged in to your account and trying to set the PIN?
    I would suggest you to switch to child account and then try to set a 4 digit PIN from here and check if it works.
