  1. Need to change PIN remotely because device was stolen

My device has been stolen. I changed the Microsoft Account password associated with it, but the PIN I used was very simple and they worked it out so are able to log in. How am I able to remove the PIN while not having access to the device so they cannot access my device until I get law enforcement to recover it? Thanks.

    :)

I’ve tried to remotely lock my stolen device. Will it lock if someone does try to turn it on and connect to the internet? I did enter a PIN code to access it before it was stolen.

  3. OSK PIN login on non-touch device

    Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

    • Go to Settings and select account.

    • Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.

    • Now click on Add and set PIN for login.

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Please get back to us with updated status. We will be happy to assist you further.

Stolen windows pc and its relation to a PIN

Does Microsoft have the means of detaching a device (Windows PC) from my Microsoft account?

In the world of multi factor authentication, the PIN has a relationship to a device which than Microsoft relates the 2 (device and PIN) to the account providing another layer of security. What is the recommendation course of action if a PC is stolen? Is
there a way to shut down the local account on that computer that is tied to that "Microsoft" account?

My college enrolled daughter had her PC stolen. We have a MS O365 account for the family. She logged onto that computer without a PIN and just a local account. Despite asking her to spend a minute to tie that account to her Microsoft account, I don't
think that was done. I have removed that computer from my office installation page, but that might not stop the thief from trying to hack her Microsoft account, if they can get into the computer. Of course, now, on her new laptop, she has the pin setup so
her account is tied to that PIN and the device which will provide an obstacle for the thief to get into her account on Microsoft, but still doesn't help on the stolen laptop. Is there anything we should do to further protect her account from being hacked
    through the stolen computer?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.
