Windows 10: Need to create a less-privileged local account to minimize delay when switching between users

We have a mail center meter workstation that is logged into and out of throughout the day by various users. This is a several minute process, and we can't bypass it as it generally stops functioning. We're considering using a local account, but I'd prefer restricting this past a typical standard user privileges. Does anyone have guidance on how we may do this and what to consider? Thank you.

Cannot switch to local account

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

  Click on Windows button, then click on
  Settings.

  Click on Accounts then click on
  Your account.
  
• 
  Click on Sign in with a local account instead.
  
• 
  Following the Online instructions.
  

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

  Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.
  
• 
  Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.

Script to create a local account with administrator privileges


Is there a script using 'net user' or similar to create a local administrator account including password for Windows 10? I tried to put something together but apparently missed a step or have one out of order.

The purpose is to give Users a way to create a 'backup' account to be used if they forget their password or any number of other problems that can prevent them from logging into their system; with their normal Microsoft Account.
Rather than walk them through each step over the phone, I could email them a script to be run before the problems happen It would create a local admin account with a specific password that could be used in emergencies.

This is for employees who have company systems but are seldom at the office and I would want to preload the name and password so they would not accidentally connect with it but it would be there and ready to use if they call for help.
Can this still be done in Windows 10 if all the steps are in the right place?

 

Switch Back to Existing Local Account from Microsoft Account

I already identified that I had tried this, and that it did not allow me to switch back to the original Local Account. The Microsoft Account hijacked the User Name of the original Local Account. When I click "Sign in With a Local Account instead" and enter
the original User Name, Windows 10 won't proceed. The only way to get back to a Local Account is enter a new User Name.
