Windows 10: Need to fix an issue showing .pdf Icons in Windows 11

In Win 11, the .pdf file ”Icon” is stuck on a “Thunbnail Image” as if it was a .jpgI have two nearly identical Windows 11 machines, with virtually the same hardware HP Pro Tower 290 G9 Desktop with virtually the same applications installed. In each case, Acrobat Reader is the default app for .pdf files, and Icons are supposed to be displayed on files in Explorer, while content Thumbnails are displayed on foldersOn one machine Topaz, everything works as it should, but on the other Fifi, the icon on .pdf files is the same as the Icon displayed on image files, such as .jpg .png e

Print to PDF missing in Printer List

Hi William,

We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
• Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
• On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
  OK to save changes.
• Restart your PC.
• Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?
