  1. Need to know how to get Windows to recognize Secure Boot is set

Have an AMD system. Want Win11. Says BIOS does not support secure boot. BIOS is set for secure boot, but unless it's set for UEFI AND Legacy OProm, will not boot into windows because with UEFI only, it does not recognize the boot device. I've set every option for UEFI Only, but setting it like that only causes a boot loop into the BIOS because the AMD BIOS do not recognize the boot drive unless I set the CSM for UEFI and Legacy OProm.Any ideas?

    :)

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

  3. Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

Yep, it sure is right there in the name of Windows. However notice how Windows is not in the name of the x86-64 instruction set? It isn't called "Windows XP x86-64", that isn't the name of the instruction set, just like "Windows 8 Secure Boot" isn't the name of the Secure Boot feature. Calling it "Windows 8 Secure Boot" implies that the feature is a Microsoft invention, which is wrong. You don't get the difference, do you...

Yes, they are. Just because someone else does it that makes it right? This site's news posts should be above others, and above simply reposting what everyone else says. And most importantly the news posts should be absolutely correct information. I've pointed out that you are wrong multiple times, and you still refuse to correct the incorrect information, in fact you choice to continue to post the incorrect information even after you know it is incorrect.
