Windows 10: Need to recover my previous File Explorer Setting in Windows 10 - please HELP ...!

Hi:While using a one of my MAGIX-Program Photo Story changed without my consent my File Explorer SETTING in WINDOWS 10, and I was wondering if there is a quick way to RECOVER the original FILE EXPLORER Setting: my File Explorer is now such a complicated and clattered mess !, and I therefore want to go back to my ORIGINAL SETTING so ...- does Windows 10 keep the File Explorer setting-file somewhere?- and EVEN BETTER: can someone recommend a SIMPLER File Explorer Setting/format than the one INCLUDED in Windows 10 - e.g. format similar used in Windows 7 ...?Any effective help to resolve this

How to recover folder locations from previous session manually

I am using the file explorer setting "Restore previous folder windows at logon"
to restore the file explorer windows from the previous login, after a windows update windows failed to restore those previous locations.
Where are those locations stored between logons?
Is it possible to recover those locations manually?
I haven't opened the file explorer after my login (which failed to recover the previous session) in hopes of not overwriting any cache file.
