Windows 10: Need to regain access to Windows computers; local admin account with no passwords

Finding myself in a rough situation here. I've got 2 computers with a similar issue. Windows OS are : 10 Home for one and 10 Enterprise for another. Let's just focus on the Windows 10 Enterprise for now. At some point, these computers were set up with a local account with admin rights. I ran across the issue yesterday when trying to help install some software but no one knows the admin passwords. We've tried and looked around for papers, notes, anything that might be the password for these admin accounts. I've been told that they were set up and always logged in automatically and there is no w

Here are a few steps you can try to regain access to your main admin account:

1. Use System Restore: You can try using System Restore to roll back your system to a previous point in time when your main admin account was accessible. To do this, boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and type "rstrui.exe" to launch System Restore. Select a restore point prior to when you made changes to the drive letters, and follow the prompts to restore your system.
   
2. Use a password reset disk: If you created a password reset disk for your main admin account before you encountered this issue, you can use it to reset your password and gain access. To do this, boot your computer from the password reset disk, follow the prompts, and create a new password for your account.
   
3. Use the command prompt: You can try using the command prompt to reset your main admin account password. To do this, boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and type "net user [username] *". Replace "[username]" with your main admin account's username. Follow the prompts to create a new password for your account.
   

If none of these steps work, you may need to consider reinstalling Windows.

If you reset the local account password it will not delete the Saved data.

I suggest you to back up the saved data and files from the admin account and try to reset the password and check if it helps.

Follow the steps below to reset the password.

• 
  Click on Reset Password.
