Windows 10: Need to reset CMOS everytime I power off PC

Hello, I recently upgraded my PC's Motherboard, CPU and RAM and encountered an issue when I turn my PC's power supply off. Every time my PC loses power I cannot boot and instead the CPU and DRAM flash one after the other. This issue is fixed with a CMOS reset but is still frustrating and concerning regardless. I have had a handful of other software issues with specific programs after this upgrade but I believe these to be contained to those software. Diagnostics tests and performance reports have not shown there to be any issues with the PC. This issue doesn't occur whenever I just shut down

CMOS Reset (502) + No Wifi Options + No Battery Charge

I have an HP Envy x360 Convertible running Windows 11 version 21H2 with the following issues:

• Boots to blue screen"CMOS Reset (502) The CMOS checksum is invalid" and then proceeds to normal OS except:
  
• Network & Internet will not detect any wifi network (though there are several available) Device manager shows intel(r) wifi-6 ax200 = This device cannot start (Code 10). Rollback Driver in device management is no longer an available option.
  
• Power detects the charger while connected but unit immediately loses power once disconnected.
  

Troubleshooting steps completed:

• Multiple hardware diagnostic tests with no indication of issue
  
• Rollback for drivers (doing this would allow an internet connection but power issues persisted)
  
• Complete factory reset & OS reinstall (locally, without USB)
  

What are my next steps to avoid unnecessary cost and/or further trial & error:

• Restore to new OS from USB?
  
• Go somewhere for more thorough hardware diagnostic?

Resetting Bios Password

Follow these steps.

1. Power off the system & unplug the power cord, flip the power switch, hard reset the cmos by removing the battery for a couple of minutes (1-2 minutes).
2. Flip the switch & power it back on for a little bit then shut it back down (give it the amount of time you normally would allow it to boot up to windows login).
3. Reseat the cmos battery & power on the system.

After you've finished them all, reseat the battery & start it up. I've done this countless times. To unlatch & grab the battery, tweezers work good.

 

Resetting CMOS Settings

Hi folks, A few 'noob' questions about CMOS settings (desktop pc - specifically DELL Vostro 200 / Foxconn G33M02 motherboard). To clear the CMOS settings you can take the CR2032 backup battery out (for several hours) or short out the 'Clear CMOS' jumpers on the motherboard. Is one method better than the other? If you use the jumper method, do you leave the power cord plugged in with the PSU switched off (so the pc is still grounded) or do you remove the power cord altogether (I have seen both options stated so unsure). Secondly, if you use the jumper method, do you leave the CR2032 backup battery IN or do you take it OUT before shorting the 'Clear CMOS' pins? The manual seems to suggest you simply short out pins 1&2 with a jumper - it makes no mention of the power cord or CMOS backup battery. Thanks Art
