Windows 10: Need to reset my PIN to log in to my computer but can’t connect to the internet from the...

I haven’t used my laptop in over a year and now that I try to use it said that my PIN is no longer available due to a change in security settings and I need to update it, but whenever I click to do it, it asks me to connect to the internet despite not having a way to do it from the log in screen.I apologize if I put this question in the wrong topic, I’m not sure in which one to put it.

1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig
   
   
   
2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
   Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
   NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank
   
   
   

 

Help with resetting pin to log into computer

I use a pin number to sign in to my computer. I'd like to change the pin number, but when I go through the steps, it seems to be asking me to log in to my microsoft account. When I try to do that, it says it doesn't recognize my account. But I can sign into my account by going to office.com, so I am not sure why when I try to access my account from the pin reset page, it doesn't recognize my account.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Click on Sign-in options on the log on screen. Select Microsoft account.
• Try logging in using Microsoft account and password.
• Once you log into the system, try to change the PIN under accounts/sign-in page.
• Select the Start
  
  button, then select
  Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
• Try to reset the PIN.
