Windows 10: Need to revert to previous app that opened my photos

After downloading photos from my phone, I was reviewing the photos and a pop-up came up asking me if I wanted this program to open all my photos. I clicked "yes" ? - big mistake. Now when I click on a photo a blank "photo/window" opens and eventually, sometimes, the photo opens. How do I get back to having whatever app was previously opening my photos. I have attempted to find something from the Startup Menu, but am afraid to try anything. Please help.

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

Hello,

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

On the Start menu, select Settings.

Go to System, then go to Default apps.

Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
Photo viewer.

Update us if the steps above helped you in resolving your concern.

Install previous version of photos app?

I had successfully installed the old version using the youtube tutorial listed here at the beginning of the year. My computer was just updated this morning and it has reverted back to the crappy new Photo editor even although I had disabled updates from
the app store. I still have all the files saved that I used to to do the fix but can't remember the steps to do so. The video has been removed from youtube. Does anyone remember the steps involved in doing this ? I wish I had written them down back then.

I had done the same thing. I used that video and it worked until yesterday. I had gotten on chat with MS and they walked me thru shutting off auto updates and it still updated to the Fall Creators update and took away my great old Photos app for good I think.
I immediately did the rollback to a previous build but it kept the new Photos app. I'm extremely disappointed by this. If you find out the steps to revert back please forward them to me.
