Windows 10: Need to stop booting into safemode - without laptop screen

O.K. Sorry if this is in the wrong section admins, please feel free to move it.

Here's my problem....

I have a Lenovo P580 laptop. The screen wire got shorted out, so I just always connected it to a TV and never really had a problem. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1. After getting that issue with the start menu and cortana not working, I tried the make another profile, etc stuff from the internet. I changed my laptop to always load into safe mode using command prompt... NOW, every time it loads up, it loads into safe mode... only problem is I can't see it or do anything because the output for my tv doesn't work.

So... I bought a new wire for the laptop screen... nothing. Bought a new screen... nothing. So I assume the motherboard is damaged... The HDMI and VGA ports worked up till I set it to boot into safe mode... *cry

Is there anything I can do? short of replacing the motherboard?

Can't get into boot options in Lenova g580 & I need to boot from USB drive

Hi all ,

I have been having a nightmare with this laptop and things have just got worse.

see missing MSRPC file & Critical Service Failed

As if I don't have enough problem I am now unable to boot into my BIOS and change the boot sequence. I have tried everything , f12 , f2 .f4,escape going to safemode, recovery ,advance startup ,troubleshooting ,advance options ,UEFI Firm ware setting ,restart
to change UEFI firmware settings.

When the laptop reboots I still can't get in the boot menu/bious thingy and it goes through the whole blue screen thingy again and eventually i.m able to get into safemode.

I have even tried taking th battery out of the laptop and that didn't fix the problem and even tried the NOVA button and that brings up a small blue menu "Nova Button Menu " , with 4 options, normal startup , bios setup , boot manager and system recovery.
But I have tried all these options and none of them fix the problem and I can't get int the boot menu , so I can load the USB stick first and run the mediarecoverytoolthingy.

As I can't run setup whilst in save mode I need to get the computer to boot to the USB drive and I have tried everything without success.

I may have changed some system settings accidentally while trying to fix my original problems, i ran alot of different program trying to fix my problems including scf scan /fixboot, windows boot manager , dism and boot options ect and perhaps I have changed
something that is stopping me getting into my boot options on startup.

PS. When in safemode the USB drive is showing up ,but I need to get it to boot from this drive.

I can't even boot in safemode. Even when I try with boot usbdrive. Its just black screen that says safemode in corners. And the windows setup window to start installation.

 

Boot the computer using the Windows 7/8/10 installation disc or USB flash drive.
On the first screen, press SHIFT+F10 to bring up the command prompt.
Run the following command.

bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

Restart the computer.

 

The problem is I can't see anything... no laptop screen and no outputs to see on the tv *Sad and I don't have a boot disk, it's all in the laptop

 

Is it possible the key combination of Fn and one of the Fx keys got inadvertently pressed? That combination toggles between the LCD Panel, the external monitor/projector port or both at the same time.

 

I believe I tried that as well. I set the safemode to start with nothing else I believe... I'd have to find the stupid youtube video I was trying to follow... I'll look for it. The laptop was over by the tv when it reset. TV Screen went dark and never came back on

 

Does the fn keys even work in safe mode??? For all I know it's on a log in screen, and I can't see it. *Sad

 

O.K... I just plugged in VGA, HDMI and the new laptop screen I bought. Hitting FN +F3 (to change between screens) did nothing at all.

 

On mine it's a hardware thing, not dependent upon the OS.

 

What other options are there??? I'm not the most computer suave guy but I can take things apart and put them back together like a mofo. lol

When you start laptop using Novo button can you see boot menu?

If yes, then create bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive.

Well now... I forgot about that button. I tried it, still no HDMI or VGA outputs working. So no, I can't see anything. *Sad I'll dig around and try to find that damn video so at least I can post what I did in the command prompt to make this happen.

 

No I can't see the boot menu. I'm going to download and make a USB recovery. Maybe someone can walk me through the screen I can't see? It's likely at the safe mode screen. Seeing as I set the command prompt to do so every time it loads up. *Sad If there are keys I can hit without needing to mouse over anything, I might be able to at least make it boot from the USB without a screen. Then once it does boot up, my TV monitor should work and I can fix problem from there???? Fingers crossed. Just need to know if anyone can help me with that or even if it can be done using just keys without mousing over anything (cause I can't see it), lol

Thanks everyone for their help so far... there has to be a way to do this. I've spent a couple hours now trying to find that darn video so I can tell everyone exactly what safe mode setting I'm booting into, but I can't find it. With my luck the poster removed it. *Sad
