Windows 10: Need to Stop/Disable thumbnails autorotating in folders Windows 10..

After one of the latest updates to windows 10, images you take with camera will be rotated the right way in your folders.

This is how after a big big problem, after time you upload images they are now not turned the right way..

You have no way to like normal just to rotate them in the folder, as you cant see what way they are turned really..


I want to disable this, so i can again enjoy all my social media sites and put images that are not turn up side down or laying on the side :/

Oh quite. I was not suggesting that there is a bug in Explorer, merely that some extra functionallity would restore utility it used to have.

I too have noticed the peculiar behaviour of Word, but that is a matter for another day. I just wanted a tick box to toggle off autorotate, so that the file preview is a preview of what is in the file.

 

How to disable thumbnails for all files

I understand that you want to disable thumbnails for all the files, let me help you with the steps.



Refer the steps mentioned below:



Disable Thumbnails in File Explorer:

1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control folders and click on
   OK.
   
3. Click on View tab.
   
4. Select the checkbox for Always show icons, never thumbnails under
   Files and Folders.
   

Disable Thumbnails in Visual Effects:

1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type SystemPropertiesPerformance
   and click on OK.
   
3. Go to Visual Effects tab and clear the checkbox for
   Show thumbnails instead of icons.
   
4. Click on Apply and OK.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
