Windows 10: Needs to press power button to exit power saving mode in the morning. During day a few...

I have to press the power button to wake the computer from sleep mode in the morning. A few hours of power saving it can be awakened by keyboard/mouse.I have enabled the mouse to wake the computer, tried restarting, according to the energy scheme the computer should not need to be switched on via the power switch? Have tried this: -Press the Windows key + R then type: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes I would appreciate it if this problem could be removed as I have the computer in a rack, can't just open the lid. To assist you better, I would like to know when exactly you had received this error. Are you able to boot the computer?

The following steps detail how to change what happens when the power button is pressed.

By default the power button will tell the computer to shut down, if it is not set to shut down, please follow the below steps.

• In the Windows search box enter ‘Power Options’ and click on it when it appears in the list.
• On the left of the window, click on the ‘Choose what power buttons do’ link
• Under ‘When I press the power button’ choose the option you want to change it to
  Shut Down.
• Click ‘Save changes’ to save the changes.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow these steps to run Power troubleshooter:

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Power.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

6. Check if issue persists.

After performing the power troubleshooter, please perform the steps that has been provided above.

N8 - Power Saving Mode

Not sure if this helps but the suggestion in the manual if power saving is acitvated and you want to switch it off is to press the on/off button briefly and then change the power saving settings there. Haven't yet had a chance to use it, so don't know whether
this helps.

if the power savings mode is not disabled automatically you can do it manually by doing a short press on the power button and then choose the last (or second to last, I don't remember) item in the menu. You can also use this menu to activate the power savings
mode manually.
