    Neither Windows button nor Search button are working. Windows 10.


    This morning I found that neither button is working.

    When I hover over the Windows button, it says Start, but does not otherwise function. Not by left-clicking, not by right-clicking.

    When I left-click on the Search button, nothing happens. When I right-click on it, I get a pop-up menu with some options, like Search, Show Cortana button, Show Task View button, etc., etc.

    These buttons were working fine the other day. Consequently I can't re-boot the computer a recent purchase from Dell about two weeks ago. It came with Windows 10 installed. I suppose I could do a hard shut-down which at this point I'm a little reluctant to try until I get some advice.

    Windows 10 START and SEARCH buttons don't work

    For some reason both my main Windows button and Search buttons don't work. Other buttons on the Task Bar work as usual. Right click on either button gives a white-on-black context menu. Anyone have a suggestion, please?

    [Solved] Windows 10 and the shutdown button

    Asrock the settings to change fast start up are not in the drop down menus,

    On the power options>change what buttons do page.

    Click the change settings currently not available at the top of the screen

    Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10

    Start button and search bar not working

    Problem that start button and search do not work has NOT been resolved. I have tried the steps suggested in previous answers but this has not worked. Altogether very frustrating and a big turn off to my opinion of Windows 10. HELP!
