Net:Err_Cert_Invalid when using Chrome on Windows 10

Please advise if there is a security setting in windows which will allow me to use Chrome as my browser? When I attempt to use Chrome, every website I visit throws up Net:Err_cert_invalidwith no option to continue to the supposedly unsafe site. This happens when I navigate to https sites only. I have extensively researched this issue and followed the suggested protocols of date check, reset chrome, clear cache cookies, uninstall chrome and every other "easy" fix with no resolution. I downloaded FireFox and ran into the same error.

    Edge browses without issue.

My computer is new and has not been loaded with apps. My only thought that is Microsoft's Defender is somehow causing this?? Maybe?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
