    .NET Updates fail with error 80073712


    Months ago .NET updates stopped working with error code 80073712. The current update is 2022-02 S & Q Rollup for .NET Framework. I've tried repair tool but no help. I note that there is nothing in "Remove Programs" about .NET but the Registry contains several keys for .NET 2.0 and 4.0. Attempting to remove .NET from the registry failed so I could do a new installation. What can repair .NET?

    Windows update KB34538124 fails with error code 80073712

    Beginning in Jan 2020 attempts to install updates to .Net fails on Windows 8.1

    The latest on 2/18/20 KB34538124 fails with error code 80073712.

    No known changes have been made to the .Net installed files. After the failure in January, did a repair to the files in programs but that did not help.

    Error 80073712 attempting windows update for .NET Framework 2019-12

    I get the repeated error 80073712 attempting to install the Security & Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5..........4.8 for Windows. I have done these

    monthly updates before and this is the first time one has failed.

    Procedure used to update:

    PC Settings

    Update and recovery

    Windows Update

    Install

    select all important updates

    Downloading updates at 8:45 am

    "There was a problem downloading updates." at 9:00 am

    "Get help with error 80073712"

    Get error message "Failed to install error 80073712"
