Network activity pasting picture on a website

Hello everyone When I replied in a thread on another forum (Hardwareonline), I used the Paste function (I use Google Chrome). To my surprise, text was not pasted, but instead a picture that I had copied earlier from Gimp was pasted in the comment field. The picture was shown in the comment field after it was pasted (I did not enter / post the comment, but deleted the content). Afterwards I have conducted various tests in Gmail, Quora and other forums with a comment / answer-field. For my tests I have tried pasting a picture copied from Gimp and also copying a PNG-file from a folder in Windows. I used Windows Resource Monitor, where I kept an eye on network activity for Google Chrome. When I paste a picture in a Gmail mail, or the comment field on Quora, the pasted picture is displayed, and there is an instant network spike for Chrome in Resource Monitor. There is no network activity for Chrome when I paste a picture in the comment field on Hardwareonline. 1. Why is there no network activity, when I paste a picture in the comment field on Hardwareonline, but there is a huge network activity spike when I paste a picture on Quora or in a mail in Gmail? Is it because, that the picture displayed in the comment field on Hardwareonline is only a local display? And that, the picture is only uploaded / network activity, when I enter / post comment? I have tried pasting pictures from Gimp and PNG-files in other comment fields on other forums aswell. There is no display of the picture and there is no network activity for Chrome in Resource Monitor. 2. If I copy a picture from Grimp, and try pasting that picture on a website, either by Ctrl. V or Paste, and there is no display of the picture, and there is no network activity. Can I then conclude, that no parts of the picture / no picture data has been uploaded to the website? 3. If I copy a PNG-file from a Windows folder, and try pasting that file on a website, either by Ctrl. V or Paste, and there is no display of the picture, and there is no network activity. Can I then conclude, that no parts of the file / no data has been uploaded to the website? Thank you for replying Best regards

    :)

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

    How to Dump Networking Parameters?

Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
