Windows 10: Network Adapter Disables whenever I start playing games

I’ve noticed that while playing COD: Black ops 3, gunfire reborn, final fantasy 14, and Skyrim my network card turns off within 10 minutes or shorter.Things I’ve tried:System restoreUpdating my network driverReinstalling my network driverChanging DHCP settingsIf it helps anyone my laptop is an Asus ROG strix G512LI running windows 10

Network adapter disappears everytime I play online games

This started when I tried to upgrade to Windows 11, I thought it was because of the windows 11 so I downgraded it back to windows 10 but the problem is still there.

Whenever I try to play online games, after a few minutes it will disconnect because my network adapter is gone. I can't see the wifi anymore. I've tried a lot of things that fixes the missing network adapter like

• Unchecking 'Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power'
  
• Updating the driver to the latest available version
  
• Uninstalling the driver and restarting
  
• typing 'netsh int ip reset' and 'netsh winsock reset' in cmd as adminstrator
  
• setting WLAN autoconfig to automatic
  
• Network reset
  
• Troubleshooting network adapter
  
• Resetting PC
  

And other fixes that I see here. It brings back the network adapter but the main problem which is the network adapter always disappear whenever I play online games is still there. I hope you can help me with this issue.

 

Network adapter disabling whenever I start gaming

For context, this started happening weeks after my system was upgraded to windows 11. I had other issues with it as well so I decided to downgrade to windows 10 but the problem still persisted.

Everytime I launch a game like Apex Legends or Rainbow six siege my wireless driver would disable itself and I won't be able to reconnect to wifi or reenable the driver successfully until I performed a network reset or reset winsock. This has been driving me nuts because I've looked up possible fixes and none of them seem to work. If I manage to get the driver up and running, it would just disable itself the next time I launch a game. It's worth noting that this doesn't happen when I'm only browsing the internet, downloading or watching videos. It just happens with multiplayer games.

My laptop is Asus rog strix g731gu and the wireless driver is Intel wireless ac 9560 160MHz. I've had this laptop for the past 2-3 years.

I'll list the fixes I've tried:

• Troubleshooting network adapters

Network adapter keeps disabling

The issue you are facing could be due network adapter driver is being outdated. Let’s try simple steps troubleshooting steps and check if this helps. Follow the below methods:

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run Network troubleshooter, it will automatically troubleshoot the network problem and check. If it helps.

• 
  Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View all on the left navigation pane.
  
• 
  Click on Network troubleshooter.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced on the Network troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Network troubleshooter.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 2.

I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the network adapter driver and check. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for Network adaptor and click on it expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic network adapter driver.
  

If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the network driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the device and click on update.
