  2. Network Adapter Intermittent Connectivity - Realtek RTL8723BE

Fixing a desktop for family, and I am having an issue with the Realtek RTL8723BE Wi-Fi Adapter. I've been researching this for about 14 hours now, but I believe I have some more data to add.

    PC: HP 20-c020

OS: Win10 Home v22H2 build 19045.2251 (though it is currently 90% on installing KB5020030)

    Adapter: Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn

    DRIVER: 2024.0.4.208 (05/26/2019)

The adapter continuously drops Wi-Fi every few minutes. I am about 3m away from the router with no obstructions, and all my other devices connect just fine. 5 phones, 2 laptops, and a streaming device. One of my phones can play PUBG mobile while the streaming device is showing Netflix and everyone else is on their phones simultaneously. Removing devices from the router has no impact on connectivity for this HP desktop. The router is stock from the ISP, no changes have been made to it from install as it is already secure enough (and not mine so I'm not terribly concerned with logging in to admin and validating settings as these family members don't need special attention to their network).

Here is what I've tried already:

-Uninstalling the driver, then rebooting to allow an automatic reinstall

-Uninstalling ALL Network Adapters, then rebooting

-Updating the driver through Device Manager

-Updating the driver through Bit Guardian Bit Driver Updater

-running the following in command prompt:

    -netsh winsock reset

    -netsh int ip reset

-Downloading and installing the driver listed on the Realtek site (though that driver version seems older, and it didn't work anyway. A text box error message informed me in broken English that the "operation system" is not supported...)

-Turning off power management for the adapter

-Enabling all performance options for the computer to completely limit all power conservation

    -Updating the firmware

    -Installing HP Support Solutions Framework

I cannot roll back the driver as I have reformatted the drive multiple times to build a fresh Win10 PC.

So as you can see, I've tried everything that has been advised in the past with this issue. Well, everything I can find anyway. I did also notice that at the very beginning of this, Device Manager reported an issue with the PCI encryption/decryption controller, but I haven't seen it again since I've been running updates intermittently.

But here is the catch. I've noticed something else. When I go into the Advanced settings for the driver, enabling/disabling 802.11d will allow me to reconnect to Wi-Fi for another few minutes. I keep a constant ping to my router, and when I get 3+ "request timed out" messages, I know the connection dropped. I then open the driver, go to Advanced, then toggle the option for 802.11d. My computer will reconnect automatically to Wi-Fi after that, and then a few minutes later when the ping shows more connection issues, I go back and reverse the 802.11d option again. So if it is enabled, I will disable it, click ok, then it will reconnect to Wi-Fi for a few minutes. Then when my connection drops again, I will go back and enable 802.11d, then click ok, and it'll reconnect again for a few minutes. I constantly have to go back and change the setting again and again to keep this computer connected.

I can only run windows updates intermittently, and my pings are all over the place. I'll start noticing a ping of 2000-3000+ ms just before the connection drops.

    Thoughts anyone?

  3. Network Adapter Intermittent Connectivity - Realtek RTL8723BE

I installed the HP Support Solutions Framework (forgot to mention that), and it doesn't appear to have had any impact so far. I haven't specifically looked for the driver on the HP site itself though.

The problem has been persistent since a fresh install using the Windows Media Creation Tool with 22H2. However, this computer was given to my family member by his former employer and was used for the business. Before wiping the drive, I noticed that whatever IT they had helping them had disabled the adapter completely. When I tried to re-enable it, the computer could not connect to a wireless network at all. They also set up multiple partitions, so I decided to wipe to make everything easier, which I ended up formatting the drive. After wiping and installing a clean Win10 OS, the computer still wouldn't connect to w network. I had to force enable the adapter via netsh. Every time I would attempt to connect, it would instantly say "couldn't connect to this network" without and further messages, and I could not find anything relating to it in any of the logs in event viewer. After messing with the advanced settings of the adapter I was finally able to connect but now I am dealing with this issue where it drops connection every few minutes and I have to go back into advanced and change 802.11d to reconnect.

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11bgn Wireless Network adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems

    Hello,

my laptop has been experiencing increasing problems of wifi connection recently and I'm now unable to connect to the internet. Troubleshooting attempts managed to get the wifi back for a few days but it seems to be now powerless
as it says "Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11bgn Wireless Network adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems". It worked again for a few hours today and I'm now back to no wifi despite troubleshooting and restarting laptop, router etc. Would you have
any clue of how I could sort this out?

    Many thanks for your help!
