  1. Network adapter named "Douglas"?

I was doing some laptop maintenance today and clicked on Network in the file menu of My PC to check what devices are connected. There is a network device name as "Douglas". That is not my computer! When I click properties, it states some information regarding Amazon. Then after a couple seconds it drops from the list of networks. This is intermittent as when I went back to get a screenshot it is not appearing. Should I reimage my laptop/factory reset?

    :)

    amazon network adapter named douglas

    Hi Diane,

There are a few reasons that we can consider as to why you’re having problems with your network adapter. It can be because your network connections are inconsistent or your device repeatedly rejoins the wrong network.
To better assist you, please clarify the following:

    • Are you getting any error messages?
    • Any recent changes made prior to the issue?
    • Can you possibly send us a screenshot?
    • What is the make and model of your wireless adapter?

  4. Network adapter named "Douglas"?

    amazon network adapter named douglas

I have the same phantom device, shows up in the Network Neighborhood.

    What is a douglas ?

It's MAC address does not show up on our router's list either.

I will be looking at any Amazon programs installed tonight. Maybe their program has a NIC emulator for Siri or such?

    Thanks!
