Network Adapter / USB Ports Shutting Down After Boot

    Hello friends,

My motherboard-integrated Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 802.11ac has been severely malfunctioning. Code 10, Code 12, not enough resources, device not installed, device disconnected, and then every now and then, it works perfectly before abruptly stopping. I've gone through the gamut of uninstalling with deleting the 2013 driver and letting the OS reinstall, same thing, then I found the 2015 driver and manually installed that through Device Manager, same thing. Finally just installed a fresh install of Windows 10 today to overcome it, but same thing.

I also happened to notice that it's not just the network adapter, but also, a lot of the USB ports power on when the computer is started, but once I enter my password and log into Windows, some of my USB devices just stop working altogether, leading me to believe there's something in Windows' settings or a bad Windows Update that's causing these.

Stumbled upon System Information today and under System Drivers, noticed that my Wi-Fi driver when it's there has "No" listed under "Started," and has a "Manual" start mode. I have no idea how to turn it on to automatic, and I've checked Services, but can't locate the driver there. Not even sure if that's the issue considering the USB port issue as well.

In the rare times the Wi-Fi adapter shows up in Device Manager anymore, Windows usually doesn't find any networks. When it does, and I enter the password for my modem-router, it immediately goes to "Can't Connect to This Network," and then all of the available networks disappear. In the absolute miracle that I successfully connected to my modem in recent months, it usually works for a few minutes before resetting to "Connected, No Internet." Then all of the other networks dozens in my area disappear.

The Windows Troubleshooter is useless, and tells me to plug an Ethernet cable in to solve my network adapter issues, and I've run out of solutions. Deleted UpperLimit and LowerLimit from the registry as well. Always disable "Allow this computer to disable device to save power," but to no avail. Have the power options set to "Maximum Performance" for the Wi-Fi adapter. Everything. Have no idea what to do.

Any step in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

How many USB ports do you use ? ( 7 years later )

    • Keyboard (x2, it has a powered USB hub on it so a second port is used for power/backlighting.)
    • Wireless Logitech G602 mouse (on the hub on the keyboard,)
    • Wi-fi adapter
    • UPS
My list is kind of boring as everything else is attached to the network such as the printer and my backup.

    network adapter not connected

thanks for the suggestions'. I don't have Wi-Fi adapters or Bluetooth capabilities. These ARE NOT listed in the device manager. I'm using an adapter in USB port. This happened after an update. I have done a system restore and several Network restores
Can I download from Realtek? How can I find out which ones are for me? I'm using a Smartab. I'm so sick of this.
