Windows 10: Network adaptor does not work (Windows 10)

After some updates, my network adaptor has stopped working.

"Restore pc to earlier status" never works since I purchased my dell laptop about 2 years ago.

I have updated to the latest available network adaptor for windows 10.

Tried loading default setting from F2 while restarting.

Tried recovery from "Update and Security" option. After clicking "Get started under Reset this PC", ask to insert windows installation or recovery media.


The above media was never given while purchasing.

How to proceed? Kindly help.

You may follow the steps provided below and check if it helps to resolve the issue

Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet connection. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your internet.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter

Method 2: Try updating the latest Network Adapter drivers from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

  Follow the steps to update the Network Adapter drivers:
  
• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Network Adapter.
  
• 
  Right-click on the Ethernet and click on Update driver software.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check.
  

For games I suggest you to disable the proxy settings and then try to download the games.

Network adaptor

I won't click Me Too because not sure it's identical.

NB: apparently for some problems going to Network Adaptor in Device Mgr and doing UnInstall is step 1.

Reboot re-installs it auto-magically. Which is step 2.

Alas, I ended up with Driver up to date, Adaptor working fine, but
"Missing Protocol" which halts cable network

So no LAN.

The issue you are facing may occur due to the network adapter driver is outdated. I suggest you to run Network troubleshooter and let us know the status.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run Network troubleshooter and check.

  Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View all on the left navigation pane.
  
• 
  Click on Network troubleshooter.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced on the Network troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Network troubleshooter.
  

If the issue still persist try the below steps provided.

Method 2.

I would suggest you to update network driver manually and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Now click on Network adaptor and right click on it and
  Network adaptor and update the driver.
